get to know me

I was born and raised in Newark, Delaware as the youngest of three sisters and was lucky enough to meet my future husband while in high school. We officially began dating while he was attending college at the Naval Academy in Annapolis and shortly after graduation we moved to Charleston, South Carolina. I was just 21 at the time and had no idea what adventures were to come.

After a year and a half we received orders to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where I first discovered my passion for photography. My husband and I had purchased our first 'nice' camera to use while traveling and I happened to have a sweet photographer friend, Jackie who was kind enough to show me the basics of shooting in manual. A few months later, on a trip back home to Delaware, I decided to practice on my adorable niece. I took a picture of her that sparked something in me and I was instantly obsessed. I began taking photos of family and friends for any reason I could find and started to realize this was something I could see myself doing seriously.

After three amazing years on the island we were given orders to spend the next three years in Naples, Italy where we fell in love with traveling. We feel so lucky to have gained lifelong friends throughout this Navy life and created amazing memories in over 30 countries along the way. We have now planted roots here in Norfolk with no plans of leaving any time soon.
